Our Top Perth Venues for a Corporate Event

Launches, gala dinners, conferences… where should I host my event?

The first check box on every event manager's list is choosing the venue; the most important, and often most difficult, decision to make. The venue is your make or break. It’s the foundation for fun. Or, {insert dramatic music}, the beginning of the end.

No matter what event you’re planning, we’ve curated a cheat sheet of some of our fave venues in P-town.

Lamont’s Bishop House, Perth CBD

Run by 40+ year old winemaking family, the Lamonts, this venue is a heritage-listed building situated in private gardens, sitting among the high rises of the Perth CBD. The enchanting family-run “house” features seven event spaces, Known Associates’ favourite being the Rose Garden where a waterfall, manicured trees and flowers, and evergreen flooring resembles falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Ask for Jack Lamont when booking; he’s the grandson of Lamont’s founder, Corin, and will greet you with a smile as he takes care of your every need. One of the things we love about Lamont’s is the food; not only the amazing flavours and presentation, but the way they handle dietary requirements with ease and attention to detail from the kitchen to the service staff.

Located on the top floor of RAC Arena, the Reveley Room features wall-to-wall geometric windows and a skylight, decked out with elegant varnished wooden floorboards and views of the city not available from any other venue. We think it’s the Arena’s best little secret as it’s not the first venue space that comes to mind when you think of Perth Arena. Grand Mama Venues

Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Perth CBD

Ahhhh PCEC. We Perth residents weren’t too sure when they built this $225 million baby. It’s been described as a cockroach, a shed and a blight on the Perth foreshore HOWEVER, it’s actually an amazing event space that can cater to almost anything we could possibly dream of.

Firstly, it’s huge! One of the largest in our fair city and because it’s purpose-built, it can adapt to conferences, exhibitions, gala affairs, and meetings with ease, complete with public transport and hotels on the doorstep. We love to work with Karen Teong, Director of Sales and Events, who has been a smiling PCEC face for as long as we can remember. She knows the venue inside out and delivers exceptional customer service. Every. Single. Time.

Many of Perth’s most prestigious events are held at PCEC and it now has the added value of views over our beautiful Elizabeth Quay.

Fraser’s State Reception Centre, West Perth

Situated high up in the tranquil surroundings of Kings Park, a unique curved building featuring floor to ceiling windows showcases breathtaking views of Perth and the Swan River. Fraser’s is, as they say, an oldie but a goodie! The State Reception Centre received a $9 million upgrade to host Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2011.

Lucky for us mere humans, that one event created an event space which offers exquisite service, food, wine lists, natural light, and location, complete with a lush native arrival garden for pre-event drinks and entertainment. One thing we’ve never received at Fraser’s is poor quality food. Head Chef, Chris Taylor is a perfectionist who creates superb food experiences whether it be for two or 700 people. But our favourite person there is Manager, Alistair, who was rocking an impressive handlebar moustache last time we saw him. He’s always en pointe with service and precision.

  • Maximum Capacity: Up to 557 PAX theatre style

  • Catering: In-house

  • Amenities: Some furniture, in-house AV

  • What to host: Weddings, seminars, galas, corporate and private functions

Located on the UWA Campus, the majestic cathedral-like venue built in 1932 simply takes your breath away. It features a marble and mosaic foyer and vaulted ceiling leading to the auditorium housing an enormous floor to ceiling pipe organ, stained glass windows and Aboriginal motifs on the ceiling. Think the Great Hall in Harry Potter, then make it grander! For pre-dinner drinks, step outside to manicured lawns or gather around the lake. We recently managed the Jilya Institute Concert headlined by John Butler here - magic!

  • Maximum Capacity: Up to 974 - Winthrop Hall | Up to 500 - The Undercroft

Think big screens, protected outdoor balconies, gala spaces, intimate rooms with panoramic views of East Perth and much more. Give Nadia Owen, the Queen of Optus Stadium, a call for more info. It really is a one stop shop. With multiple unique event spaces, from ballrooms to luxury function rooms such as the Crown Mansions, Crystal Lounge and Poolside, it’s clear to see why we love it. In general Crown just gets it. They know what works, how to mass produce tasty meals, the spaces are shiny and new, and the process is easy. Going there for a formal occasion, you just feel kind of, classy.

Beaumonde on the Point, East Perth

This venue is a bit of a dark horse. We hosted many events there and its river location, beautiful bar, food, service and easy access from the city makes it a viable option for medium to large gala events. The East Perth water’s edge venue features floor to ceiling windows, extensive outdoor balconies, modern, purpose-built event technology, furnished with blue and gold tones - yes, it has a ballroom with carpet which doesn’t make you want to throw up. Genius!
