Enter a world of wonder and imagination at the #FestivalofWords for the Premier’s Reading Challenge. We were thrilled to work with the Department of Education WA and Development WA to bring this event to life at Yagan Square. Various storytelling sessions from 11th to 15th July encouraged children of all ages to read for enjoyment.

Children brought their scavenger hunting skills for an interactive fossil hunting workshop and roar-some reading of Dr Seuss’s “Oh Say Can You Say Di-no-saur?”. A cartoonist transported attendees with a cartoon workshop, inspired by “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Magic tricks and an entertaining reading of “The Greatest Magician in the World” was a crowd pleaser for all.

A princess wearing a donut skirt took young readers through “Donuts: The Hole Story” before a delicious donut decorating workshop. Muggles and wizards alike immersed in a mystical chapter reading from The Philosopher’s Stone before diving into a magical potions class.

Reading can take you anywhere, and this event showcased just that!
