The BrainChildBall: Greece Filotimo

Client | The Pirate Ship Foundation

Location | Crown Ballroom, Crown Perth

On the 10th anniversary of the gala event, Known Associates took the BrainChild Ball guests on a Grecian getaway. Filotimo - meaning “to give and expect nothing in return” - perfectly captured the generosity of guests supporting the Pirate Ship Foundation’s vision of happy healthy children, free from brain cancer.

Guests entered through a grand columned walkway worthy of the gods: white carpet flanked by towering ancient pillars wrapped in vines, setting the tone for a sprawling Grecian vignette, unfolding from corner to corner. Around the ballroom themed bars showcased elements of Greece; idyllic Santorini overflowed with bottles of Veuve, the birthplace of the Olympics poured Bailey Brewing Co beers, and luxurious artistic drapery, ancient statues of the gods and golden olive trees formed an ethereal bar, raining down cocktails, encapsulating Mount Olympus mythology.

Complete with a main stage, several bars, multiple photo booths, and a central stage for DJs, auction and later guest dancing, guests were treated to an immersion of Greek culture creating moments of shared joy. The night kicked off with a sea of waving napkins, leading to proclamations from Zeus, plate smashing, live Greek dancers, authentic Greek musicians, an ABBA drag show, and the whole room linking arms in the Zorba on the marble dance floor!
