Team Known Associates flew to Melbourne to manage this prestigious calendar event for IDOM AG. The room breathed with good vibes as high as the basketballs soaring through the air at Centrepiece, Olympic Park Melbourne. Grand Hall transformed into a loungy 2022 Oscars-style design (minus the slap) merged with a strong NBA Playoffs theme.
Plush dark furniture with accents of gold and emerald marble provided guests comfort and style. Popping orange, black and gold florals embellished the stage and table tops throughout. Above the colourful haze of the ‘stadium’ hung a cubed LED screen displaying the animated fireball IDOM CUP logo and all the night’s action.
The dress code was a supremely comfortable ‘Cocktail with your best NBA kicks’. Guests strutted in in their Air Jordans, to the sounds of the event theme song “The Hey Song”. Welcomed by NBL stars, including Mitch Creek, guests watched the super (tall) humans show off their mad skills on the half court. Space Jam besties, Bugs & Daffy, teased their way through the crowd like any mascot would. An NBA highlights reel played throughout the night on the big screen.
Fox Sports superstar MC, Brihony Dawson, lead a high-class awards ceremony, which saw the best of the company’s best celebrated amongst their peers. Brihony also commentated crowd favourites Sneaker Cam, Glam Cam, and a cheeky three point comp between IDOM employees.
Breaks between award presentations were filled with gourmet food, glitter glamming, fresh cuts in the barber corner, and guests destroying their opponents in arcade games. A fan fave element was the basketball half court, steadfastly jam packed by guests absolutely nailing three pointer shots. Guests also measured themselves against three life-size NBA players Yao Ming at 2.29m, LeBron James 2.06m, Shaquille O’Neal 2.16m.
As formalities wrapped, DJ Matty Charles took centre stage with a rap performance featuring surprise performer, MC, Brihony Dawson, followed by RnB bangers til it was time for guests to kick on in their kicks at the after party! Phwoar! What. A. Night!
