Old Hollywood charm can do no wrong!
The 11th BrainChild Gala Dinner rolled out the red carpet at State Reception Centre, casting Kings Park in Old Hollywood glamour to support The Pirate Ship Foundation’s vision of happy, healthy children free from brain cancer.
As sunset sprawled across the sky, opening credits rolled across the lawn. Paparazzi flashbulbs illuminated guests stepping out of cars as champagne towers flowed and live jazz drifted across trees glowing gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Inside, red velvet, brass accents, elaborate florals, jewels and candelabras dialled up the glamour. Roaming Hollywood stars danced and smiled in the vintage Photo Booth keeping the room alive with stardom.
The fundraising deserved top billing. Our Stefan Diamonds Champagne Bar served French champagne with the chance to win a 1 carat round brilliant cut, while a unique custom fragrance station, live pledges and a spirited auction kept generosity swirling around the room.
Then the room stilled.
Cruz and his family brought everyone back to why BrainChild exists. You could hear a pin drop as their story filled the room. Matt McCooey followed with Adore U, dedicated to Cruz, while family images played across the screens. No theatrics needed.
The lights came back up, bids flew, glasses clinked and the celebration found its feet again, with stylised live entertainment enthralling the discerning well-heeled crowd long into the night.
Old Hollywood gave us the setting. BrainChild gave the night its meaning.
